Turquoise & Seed Pearl Necklace

Additional Information

An early twentieth-century jewel signed Murle Bennett, conforming to the fashionable lines of Art Nouveau. The piece comprises an oval turquoise set centrally within a symmetrical pair of flowing gold lines. A pair of small pearls forms the loop by which it is suspended. A small, similarly set turquoise forms an articulated drop below. The openwork structure lends visual lightness against the polished goldwork.
The design aligns with the stylistic vocabulary promoted by Liberty & Co. during the Art Nouveau period. Murrle Bennett, along with principal designer Archibald Knox, worked within a shared aesthetic framework of natural forms, flowing lines, and simplified structure.
